Las Vegas is not known for nothing as the Gambling Capital of the United States. It is the city that is most associated with gambling and casinos and visitors cannot help but be bowled over by the incredible vibe of the city and the important part that gambling and wagering play in its character. Las Vegas has a character of its own, something that is not found anywhere else in the world.
Visitors will be happy to know that the gambling history of Las Vegas is well preserved in a special museum dedicated to the subject. The Las Vegas Museum, open daily, is the home of memorabilia and items that show the history of gambling in the city. The museum houses pictures and posters showing the early days of Las Vegas and visitors can see how much the city has grown since the 1920's. The museum also shows important people in the gambling history of the city, such as Bugsy Siegel, the famous mobster and Howard Hughes.
Entrance into the Las Vegas Gambling Museum costs a reasonable $2.50 for adults. Visitors should try and fit in a visit to the museum, in between their gambling at the many casinos, to enjoy a fascinating trip down memory lane.
